dhtml

For agents · a skill, and plain text

Hand this to your agent

dhtml's language is small and written down, which is what makes it a good fit for an agent. Give it the skill, and it knows the language, the loop and how to put a site online on dhtml.net. The plain-text files are the same documents as the docs, generated from the same source, so they cannot drift from it.

§ 01 · The skill

A Claude skill for dhtml

A skill is a folder an agent loads when the work calls for it: a short SKILL.md with the loop and the rules, and reference files it reads only when it needs them (syntax, templates, configuration, languages, signing and calls, deploying, errors and their fixes). It is generated from the same documents as this site.

Unzip the dhtml folder into your agent's skills folder (for Claude Code, ~/.claude/skills/ or .claude/skills/ in a project). The skill is also listed at dhtml.net/ai.

§ 02 · Or a prompt to copy

Paste this into Claude Code, Cursor or any agent

Read https://dhtml.org/llms.txt, then the documents it links to (start with syntax and templates).
Build my app as a dhtml project: HTML pages with the documented <d:...> tags only.
Never invent a tag, attribute or filter that the documents do not list; if one is needed, say so and stop.
Deploy it to my site on dhtml.net with a deploy key (https://dhtml.net/ai/deploy-api.txt) and fix what the check reports.

§ 03 · The files

Plain text, one URL each

FileWhat it is
/llms.txtThe index, in the llms.txt convention: what dhtml is, the rules, and a link for every document.
/llms-full.txtEvery document in one file, for an agent with a large context.
/agents/syntax.txtSyntax at a glance: Every tag, attribute and filter on one page. The short specification.
/agents/agent-guide.txtGuide for AI agents: The short version for an AI agent or a person in a hurry: the loop, the patterns, the common errors.
/agents/templates.txtTemplates: The exact rules for values, tags, queries, actions, AI calls, forms and accounts.
/agents/config.txtConfiguration: Every key of dhtml.config and .env.
/agents/stability.txtWhat stays the same in 1.x: The promise for 1.x: what is never removed, what may change, and how things are retired.
deploy-api.txtDeploy a zip to your site with one HTTP call and a deploy key.

§ 04 · What an agent should know

Four things that save a wrong turn

  • The documents are the specification. A tag, attribute or filter that is not in them does not exist.
  • Every upload is checked. The check validates the config, routes and every template, and every error names a file, a line and a hint. A failed upload leaves the running site as it was.
  • Check what is built. The status page says which features are built and which are only built, not proven. The status page is generated from one file, and /llms.txt links to it.
  • There is no way to ask for unescaped output or a shell command. If the answer seems to need one, the design is wrong; see the security model.
