dhtml

Demos · built in dhtml, no framework, no build step

Real apps, one folder each

These are not mock-ups. Each one is a dhtml project in examples/, built from pages, actions and SQL, and each starts with one command.

§ 01 · LaunchBlog

A news site with an AI writer

LaunchBlog: a navy newspaper masthead with a date line, a red ticker of headlines, a search box, a lead story with a generated cover picture and a Top stories column.
LaunchBlog, as it runs out of the box: masthead, ticker, lead story and top stories.

Think of it as a small WordPress you can read: one folder, one SQLite file, no plugins.

  • A front page that looks like a paper. Navy masthead with a date line and a ticker, a lead story, top stories and sections.
  • Real publishing workflow. Categories, several authors with author pages, and contributors who sign in and write drafts that an editor publishes.
  • An AI writer. Posts written by Claude on a schedule the editor sets, always labelled as AI-written. Without a key it uses a built-in fake model, so you can try it for free.
  • Pictures without photo licences. Generated stock covers, nothing linked from other sites.
  • Search engines understand it. NewsArticle data, breadcrumbs, author profiles, a sitemap with pictures and a feed on every page.

§ 02 · LaunchSaaS

An AI product you can charge for

LaunchSaaS: a dark landing page for a product called Lumen, with the headline Say it once, a gradient on Get the words and the pictures, the labels Text Studio, Image Studio and One balance of credits, and a cookie banner.
LaunchSaaS landing page. The cookie banner is part of the starter, with its text and options editable in the admin.

Everything between "sign up" and "get paid" is already there. The full tour, with real code →

  • Credits and plans. A ledger, welcome credits, monthly credits per plan, packs, and spending that cannot go below zero.
  • Text Studio and Image Studio. Claude writes, OpenAI draws, and each costs credits shown before you press the button.
  • Stripe. Subscriptions and packs, with a signed webhook that grants credits exactly once.
  • Sign in with a link. Magic links next to the usual password flow.
  • A control centre. People, credits, plans, prices, posts, an inbox, SEO and the cookie banner, all from /admin.
  • A public site around it. Pricing from the database, a blog, docs, a changelog, a contact form, a sitemap and a feed.

§ 03 · What they have in common

The same engine underneath

Both are pages, actions and SQL in one folder. Both get accounts, mail, backups, security headers, CSRF protection and fast page changes from dhtml, not from packages. Both are MIT-licensed, so you can change anything.

The code of every page is readable: unzip one and read it top to bottom. More examples →
